Roy M. Carlisle

Roy M. Carlisle is the Director of Publishing and co-owner of PageMill Press with Robert D. Frager, Ph.D. Previously Roy served as acquisitions and publishing program Director for a Bay Area think tank, overseeing a scholarly book publishing program. Roy has served on the executive committee of the Independent Book Publishers Association board of directors and has also served as a liaison to the American Association of Publishers.

 

From 1976 to 1988 Mr. Carlisle served as Senior Editor at HarperOne (formerly HarperSanFrancisco), and then from 2001 to 2006 he was the West Coast Senior Editor at The Crossroad Publishing Company in New York. From 1996 to 2001 he was Co-Owner and Editorial Director at Circulus Publishing Group (Wildcat Canyon Press imprint). In the early 70s he was the General Manager of the Fuller Theological Seminary Bookstore. He has also been a Founding Board Member and former Chairman of the Board at New College Berkeley, and Founder and former Executive Director of the Academy of Christian Editors. He maintains an active membership in S.H.A.R.P., the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading, and Publishing. And he is an associate member of the American Psychology Association.

Mr. Carlisle holds a B.A. in philosophy from Whitman College, and M.A. in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, has studied counseling psychology at Santa Clara University, and studied Library Science at Diablo Valley College, and taught publishing courses at UC Berkeley Extension and at the IBPA University.
