Robert D. Frager

Robert D. Frager, Ph.D. is the President & CEO of PageMill Press. He is the founder and President Emeritus of the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, now called Sofia University, in Palo Alto, California, where he is also a professor of psychology. President Frager is known for his pioneering work in the field of transpersonal psychology and for his role in establishing the country's first educational institution dedicated to this emerging field of research and practice. He is past president of the Association for Transpersonal Psychology.

Frager is also a Sufi teacher in the Halveti-Jerrahi Order and leads a Sufi community in Redwood City, California. Sensei Frager also teaches Aikido, a spiritual Japanese martial art, and has been awarded an 8th degree black belt by the International Aikido Association in Japan. The 8th degree is now the highest rank given in Aikido. It is a great honor.

Frager graduated with a B.A. in psychology from Reed College. He earned a Ph.D. in social psychology from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was a fellow at the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii and was a research fellow at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan.
